Is there a DC polarity requirement for 3v-5v LED?
Adding light to hobby lighthouse kit. Blinking LED to be used; is there a polarity requirement for this? Thanks.
Yes. Diodes only allow current to flow in one direction. Since a DC circuit has current flow in one direction, if the LED is backwards, the current will be stopped. As was said earlier, it won't harm the LED to be installed backwards, so if it doesn't light, simply turn it around.
