Ideas 50th wedding anniversary?
My gpa and gma will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next September 2011. Some aunts and I are planning a special celebration, Any ideas on what to do or how to do that. We have no idea! I thought something cute and memorable, like a DVD slideshow of pictures of them in the past, Vowles new era, but I want to know if there were other ideas Cute as the release of doves or butterflies etc anythign help! we are looking at a blank canvas here! 
We had a party to the Knights of Columbus. We decorated the colors of bridesmaids dresses and flowers. We had helium balloons in these colors and embedded in a clay flower pot painted upside down, then the ribbons on the balloons through the holes. We used tablecloths and napkins tables in the colors (teal and pink), and votive candles were sitting on small mirrors, both the dollar store. We serve appetizers that is what my mother wanted. My sister and I made an album for them in a wedding album. We started with pictures of themselves as children with their own families, then between them in school and dating, marriage, us kids, all siblings, nephews and nieces over the years, our marriages and our families, pictures of them with grandchildren and finally all the neighbors we've known since we moved in 1965. Most of our neighbors were the same until recently. Basically we had a collage of pictures of all kinds of things. My brother-in-law was someone in his department Art to make a slideshow set to the song Memories. Corny, but I did not have better ideas. We had the space in the album for guests to sign and pictures of the party. I went around and took pictures of everyone there, everyone at the table, couples, families, single women together, etc. We had a piano player so that people can sing. My father was involved in some choirs and other singing groups, and they liked to frequent bars piano. My father and his partner played for about 20 minutes. It was a very pleasant. It was in 1999, so it may seem a bit old (slide show, for example ... he was transferred to a videotape subsequently but even that is now obsolete).
